Last week, I shared the story behind Elizabeth and Adam’s engagement session. These two were so thoughtful when choosing their location, and I still smile when I think back to capturing them in the exact same spot where Adam proposed. Everything about it was so special.
Just like their engagement session, Elizabeth and Adam’s wedding could not have been more perfect or filled with more love. I’m so excited to share more details!
The pair spent the morning getting ready with their bridal party. I think it’s safe to say, Elizabeth is simply stunning inside and out. She was so relaxed while getting her hair and makeup styled, and there’s nothing quite like the moment when a bride slips into her wedding dress.
Their ceremony was at a beautiful church in downtown Alexandria, and the emotion on Elizabeth and Adam’s faces says it all. Plus, how can you not smile when a ring bearer walks down the aisle with the flower girls? Watching E+A get married was just as much of a dream as the moment they recessed down the aisle as husband and wife.
After their ceremony, we had TWO hours for portraits. Friends, this is a photographer’s DREAM. We started our session at their church, stopped by streets in Alexandria, and then we had time for even more portraits on the waterfront. We even snuck in more portraits during sunset at their reception venue, the incomparable Lansdowne Resort.
Elizabeth and Adam’s reception was filled with more memorable moments, but I expected nothing less from them or their family. I loved the joy-filled entrance this couple made, and I still find myself smiling when I catch a glimpse of a picture from their first dance. The dances they each shared with their parents showed how much they love their families and how much they’re loved in return. E+A were hoisted up on chairs, and there was so much singing. These two just know how to have fun with their guests!
I instantly fell in love with the bridal party and family of Elizabeth and Adam. I felt welcomed in as one of their own, and I felt more like a guest than a vendor. I think you will see why as you take in all of their photos below.
Elizabeth and Adam, you have hearts of gold. I wish you two a lifetime of happiness and am looking forward to the new friends I have made and hope you cherish these memories forever!
