There are so many reasons to capture maternity photos, and one of the sweetest reasons is to capture your only child while she is still your only. Kim and Ross knew they wanted to take photos of their growing family, and I loved meeting this couple and their daughter, Emma, at Burnside Farms in Haymarket. The sunflowers reached their peak blooming season on the farm just before our session, and Emma loved running through the flowers with her grandma in tow!
It wasn’t long after meeting Kim, Ross, Emma, and Grandma that sweet Ellie made her arrival! Rather than meeting this family at another location, I loved being invited into their home. Lifestyle newborn sessions are always best because I’m able to capture everyone in a space where they’re comfortable. Before the session, we talk through details, outfits, props, and more, but I know we’re always on your newborn’s timeline! This allows everyone to relax and enjoy the session with plenty of time for diaper changes, feedings, and lovely moments in between.
When I first met Emma, she was about to become a big sister. It’s so adorable to see her transformation in the family’s photos! I’m forever grateful to Kim and Ross for trusting their dear friends when they recommended that the pair contact me. It was such a joy to capture Kim, Ross, Emma, and Ellie, and to see this family’s sweet bond grow right before my eyes.
