Fava Family | Silver Lake Park Family Session

As a photographer, one of the biggest gifts is having a front row seat to watch as your clients’ families grow and change over the years. That’s one of the reasons why I love milestone sessions! The Fava family met me at Silver Lake Park just before July 4^th. It was so great to catch up with them and see how much little Miss Laura has grown since her newborn session. Plus, the personalities of her big brothers are coming out more and more. They’re adorable!

During family sessions, I always remind everyone to simply go with the flow of the day. As a mom myself, I know how much families can dread family photos. You know you want these moments captured, but you’re never quite sure if little temperaments will flare. Anything can happen, and I love reminding parents to not worry about encouraging their kids to sit, look at the camera, and make sure they’re smiling. Those moments definitely happen (you will see them below!), but the best part about lifestyle photography (and milestone sessions!) is I’m capturing your family living your lives together – interacting, telling jokes, making funny faces, taking a peek by the water of a stream, or exploring on a picnic blanket.

In the end, the best smiles aren’t going to be the formal posed ones. Instead, they’re going to be the real moments when your family is simply enjoying a park (in this case!) together. I promise those moments are truly the ones you will remember and want to hang on your walls.
